This year, we are excited to announce our KIDS CLUB, which aims to provide children and families an opportunity to participate in creative activities that help them not only learn more about French culture and traditions, but Guyanese art forms as well. We offer unique kids workshops and activities on Saturdays for children in Georgetown, Guyana.

About our animator!

Jovanka Williams

Jovanka Williams, an accomplished steelpan virtuoso, began her musical journey at the tender age of 6 when she picked up her first pair of mallets at church in Trinidad and Tobago, then furthered skill building at St. Gabriel’s Primary School. Over two decades, she has achieved impressive success, winning five senior solo, seven duet, and six jazz titles with The Kunjaz Steel Ensemble, solidifying her status as a master of the instrument. Jovanka’s exceptional talent has been recognized with prestigious awards, such as the National School of Music award for being the Most Musically-inclined student and the National Youth Award of Excellence for Outstanding Accomplishments in Music. Equipped with a Diploma in Marketing and a Degree in Business Management from the University of Guyana, she has also significantly contributed to education, teaching at North Georgetown Primary School and The Bishops’ High School. Balancing her responsibilities as a devoted mother to her energetic 5-year-old and the band manager of Kunjaz Steel Ensemble, Jovanka’s musical prowess has taken her worldwide. With a wealth of experience, she also served as a judge in various competitions and has now ventured into artist management under her label, The Kunjaz Group.
